Dharma & Discuss

Dharma talks explore Buddhist teachings and offer guidance on spiritual practice

Location: The Lodge at Quietude, 1130 Montreat Rd., Black Mountain, N.C.

Time: Mondays from 6:30-8 p.m.

We welcome beginners and experienced practitioners!

When you arrive, make yourself comfortable by joining the group. The facilitator will offer meditation instructions for newcomers and lead meditation for about 15 minutes.

One of our respected teachers will present a dharma talk for about 30 minutes, or we may view a recorded dharma video. Then there will be time for questions and discussion. Kindly silence your phone for the duration, or, if essential, place it on vibrate.

We believe that access to community and shared wisdom should be available to everyone, so all Social Sangha events are offered for free. Following an ancient Buddhist practice, we collect danā, a Pali word for giving freely. In this way we practice generosity, deepen awareness of our interconnectedness, and encourage non-attachment. If this kind of giving is available to you, there will be a donation box at this event. Any amount is appreciated — $15 is one suggestion. The danā goes to support our valued teachers.
